Dear Prospective Candidate,
We are delighted to extend a formal invitation to you to explore a defining career milestone with British American Tobacco. Operating locally as Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC in Sri Lanka, we have built a long-standing legacy as one of the country’s most resilient and prominent corporate entities. As our organization continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we remain deeply committed to fostering a culture where exceptional professional talent meets boundless global possibilities. We are actively seeking an experienced, proactive finance professional to step into the critical role of Tax Compliance Manager, based out of our established corporate office in Colombo. In this leadership position, you will serve as a strategic guardian of our financial integrity, driving the seamless execution of our fiscal commitments while partnering closely with cross-functional leadership teams to navigate an increasingly dynamic regulatory environment.
As our Tax Compliance Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end corporate tax framework. Your primary day-to-day responsibilities will center on overseeing the accurate compilation, thorough validation, and timely submission of all direct and indirect tax returns, ensuring absolute adherence to Sri Lankan statutory regulations. You will actively monitor shifting local tax legislations, translating complex policy changes into actionable operational insights to safeguard the business against regulatory risks. Beyond baseline compliance, you will act as the principal point of liaison for internal and external auditors, as well as local revenue authorities, managing institutional relationships with transparency and high professional standards. Leveraging your advanced financial acumen, you will also identify process optimization opportunities, streamlining corporate reporting workflows by integrating modern technology and standardized practices. By delivering sharp, flawless tax insights, you will directly support local executive leadership in making risk-aware resource allocation decisions that protect our corporate reputation and fuel sustainable business growth.
This position offers a rare space to scale your leadership capabilities within a highly collaborative, global network. We believe that true leadership isn’t merely a title—it is an active mindset.
