Manager – Health & Safety

 

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and experienced Manager – Health & Safety to lead and oversee Health, Safety, and Fire Prevention operations across Hayleys Fabric PLC (Neboda) and South Asia Textiles (Pugoda).

This is a critical leadership role focused on maintaining and enhancing the organization’s commitment to health, safety, and fire prevention in a textile/manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities –

  • Lead and manage Fire Safety systems, emergency preparedness, and emergency response programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations and international standards, including NIKE, SLCP, and SMETA requirements.
  • Oversee critical safety management systems such as Work Permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Contractor Safety.
  • Conduct and lead risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the organization’s safety culture.

 

Candidate Profile –

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a similar Health & Safety leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH and/or IOSH will be considered a distinct advantage.
  • Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ZDHC, multi-site operations, and global compliance standards such as NIKE CLS and Disney ILS.
  • Strong technical expertise in Fire Safety systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, fire detection, and emergency response mechanisms.
